Obinna Osuji
Obinna Osuji is a health tech entrepreneur and technology professional who is passionate about improving the quality of health insurance and health care in Africa. He is the co-founder and CEO of Medismarts Limited, a Nigerian health tech startup that has revolutionised the health insurance space with their proprietary technology that automates the process of onboarding, payments, benefit managements and claims adjudication for HMOs and Providers.
Prior to Medismarts, Obinna was an enterprise applications developer in the payments space, building POS software, card payment solutions and web services for Pay Master, a subsidiary of Chams Plc.

He holds a B.Sc. in Systems Engineering from the University of Lagos as well as a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the same University.

Accomplishments Till Date
Under Obinna's leadership, Medismarts' insurance software (Medicloud), a cloud first technology platform has processed over 30 billion Naira in medical cost payments in the last 36 months across over 2,000 healthcare providers onboarded on our platform, at no cost to them in order to facilitate day to day health insurance transactions.
Over 1 million enrollees have been onboarded on our platform till date, generating approximately 10 million encounter records which gives our Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered adjudication engine, enough data to take claims approval/rejection decisions with minimal human interaction.
Our Web APIs facilitates over 1 million transactions daily, everything from real-time eligibility verification to benefits and limits calculations and check-in/check-out at the various healthcare facilities nationwide.
Our Client Base - HMOs, Providers, Third Party Integrations
We currently have the largest market share of the Health Insurance space and some of our portfolio customers includes Hygeia HMO, Redcare, Health Partners and Clearline HMO. Our platform currently processes the highest number of electronic claims submissions in the country.
In today's tech driven market place, we have gone beyond just providing a technology platform to being in partnership with our clients to enable their businesses evolve at the speed of thought. Our treasure trove of data access has made it possible to deploy mobile apps that gives the policy holders access to their information right in their pockets.
We have also facilitated scores of partner integrations and developed other solutions such as our Telehealth App and Automated Claims Settlement & Revenue Collections solution in partnership with 5 Banks and counting.
